FROM U.S. ROUTE 1 SOUTHBOUND: Shortly after crossing the Raritan River, you will go under one overpass and pass Sears. BEFORE the next overpass, take the first exit marked Ryders Lane, in the direction of New Brunswick. You will go through one traffic light, following Ryders Lane as it makes a sharp curve to the left; shortly afterward, you will see a sign for Eagleton Institute/Wood Lawn. Turn left into the driveway at the sign. Turn right in front of the building, a large white mansion, for parking.

FROM U.S. ROUTE 1 NORTHBOUND: Shortly beyond the exit for College Farm Road, take the second Ryders Lane exit, which is marked New Brunswick. Go through the traffic light, following Ryders Lane as it makes a sharp curve to the left; shortly afterward, you will see a sign for Eagleton Institute/Wood Lawn. Turn left into the driveway at the sign.

FROM THE NEW JERSEY TURNPIKE: Take Exit 9 and stay right after the toll booths to get onto Route 18 northbound. Stay in the center lane on Route 18 to avoid being forced onto Route 1 N. After the light at Paulus Blvd, when road divides, stay to the right for local exits. Once in the local lanes, take first exit on left marked "172 - Cook/Douglass." Turn left at the green arrow light onto George Street. Stay in left lane. After the next light, follow road straight ahead and go halfway around the small circle onto Ryders Lane. The sign and driveway for the Eagleton Institute will be directly ahead at the curve in the road. Wood Lawn, a large white mansion, will be up the driveway on the right. Parking is available in front of the building.

FROM THE GARDEN STATE PARKWAY (points north): Take the exit for Route 1 south and follow directions above from Route 1, or take the exit for the New Jersey Turnpike and follow directions above from the Turnpike.

FROM THE GARDEN STATE PARKWAY (coming from the Shore and points south): Take the Parkway to Exit 105 for Route 18 North (towards New Brunswick). Follow Route 18 past the Turnpike. Exit onto Route 1 South (toward Trenton). You will pass Sears and two restaurants. Before the next overpass, take the first Ryders Lane exit (toward New Brunswick). You will go through one traffic light, following Ryders Lane as it makes a sharp curve to the left; shortly afterward, you will see a sign for Eagleton Institute/Wood Lawn. Turn left into the driveway at the sign. Turn right in front of the building, a large white mansion, for parking.

FROM ROUTE 287: Take the exit for Easton Avenue/New Brunswick. Follow Easton Avenue until it ends at the New Brunswick train station; turn left at the traffic light there onto Albany Street. Go 1 block to the traffic light at George Street; turn right there. Follow George Street to the Douglass College campus; shortly after the light at Nichol Avenue, as George Street begins to curve left at the small roundabout, bear right onto Ryders Lane. The driveway for the Eagleton Institute of Politics will be directly ahead of you.

BY TRAIN: New Jersey Transit trains running between Trenton and Penn Station/New York stop at the New Brunswick station at least hourly, with more frequent service during rush hour. Amtrak's Northeast Corridor trains (traveling between Washington and Boston) generally do not stop in New Brunswick, but one can transfer at Trenton (coming from the south) or New York (coming from the north) to a New Jersey Transit local, or take Amtrak to Metropark (Iselin, NJ). Cabs are generally available at both the New Brunswick and Metropark stations. (For schedules, call New Jersey Transit at (800) 772-2222 (from New Jersey) or (973) 762-5100 (from out of state) or visit the New Jersey Transit web site here.
