In CA-1, Mike McGuire has raised the most with $855,210, outraising the two Democratic women in the race. Saikat Chakrabarti (D), who is running in CA-11, leads the money race for all open-seat contests; he has raised nearly $5.2M by almost exclusively self-financing his campaign. CA-11 is the seat of former Speaker of the U.S. House Representative Nancy Pelosi, who is retiring. Two women have reported campaign finance data for this seat, Connie Chan (D) with $415,277 and Marie Hurabiell (D) with $420,187. A Democratic woman, Rakhi Israni, leads the money race in CA-14 with over $2.1M raised. More than half of her funds (57%) come from self-financing. Another Democratic woman, Jacqui Irwin, with $481,053, leads the money race in CA-26. In CA-38, Hilda Solis (D) has raised the most with $597,680.
Across the open-seat races, the average raised by Democratic men candidates (over $1.4M) exceeds the average raised by Democratic women candidates ($482,012).
