Key Stat(s)

There is no U.S. Senate race in New York. New York will elect 26 members to its U.S. House delegation.

Democrats Laura Gillen (NY-4), Grace Meng (NY-6), Yvette Clarke (NY-9), and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14) are running for reelection. Two Republican incumbents -- Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11) and Claudia Tenney (NY-24) -- are also running for reelection.

Democratic women have the highest average total raised with over $6.5M, higher than the average raised by Democratic men and Republicans seeking reelection. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14) has the highest total raised of the women running for reelection with over $23M.

NY-17, which features Representative Mike Lawler (R) seeking reelection, has a crowded field of Democratic candidates seeking the nomination. This is considered a “Toss Up Republican” according to The Cook Political Report. Lawler has raised nearly $2M. Half of the Democratic candidates with campaign finance data are women, though Peter Chatzky leads the money race with over $5.8M. He is almost entirely self-financed.

In NY-21, which is an open seat considered solidly Republican, according to The Cook Political Report, Anthony Constantino has raised $5M. Blake Gendebien, a Democrat, has raised nearly $4M and leads the money race for Democrats.

In challenger and open-seat U.S. House races, Republican men, on average, have the highest proportion of self-financed contributions compared with Democratic women and men. Only one Republican woman challenger is represented in the campaign finance data, and she does not report any funds from self-financing.

Women in both parties have a higher average proportion of small contributions than men do. Seventy-two percent of Ocasio-Cortez’s funds come from small contributions.

This statistic is the average total amount raised to date from individuals (including self-financing).

This statistic is the average amount from self-financing as a proportion of total raised (from individuals including the candidate) by candidate subgroup. Primary challengers to incumbents are excluded.

This statistic is the average amount of contributions $200 or less as a proportion of total raised (excluding self-financed contributions) by candidate subgroup.
