There is one U.S. Senate race in Ohio. Ohio will elect 15 members to its U.S. House delegation.

Senator John Husted (R) is running for reelection. The Senate race in Ohio is competitive according to The Cook Political Report. Democrat Sherrod Brown, challenging Senator Husted, leads the money race with almost $31M raised.

Four Democratic incumbent women are running for reelection in Ohio: Joyce Beatty (OH-3), Marcy Kaptur (OH-9), Shontel Brown (OH-11), and Emilia Sykes (OH-13). No Republican women are represented in the Ohio congressional delegation. The average proportion of funds raised from small contributions is higher among Democratic women incumbents than for the proportion of the sole Democratic man seeking reelection. Three of the incumbent women—Beatty, Brown, and Sykes—are Black. Sykes has raised the largest proportion of funds from small contributions (22%) of the incumbent women candidates from Ohio.

Representative Kaptur (OH-9), who is white, is running for reelection in a seat considered a “Toss Up” by The Cook Political Report; she has raised over $2.2M. Her Republican opponent Derek Merrin has raised less than $500,000.

Republican men running for the U.S House from Ohio as challengers have an average proportion of funds raised from self-financing of 26%, which is higher than the average for Democratic men and women candidates running as challengers.

This statistic is the average total amount raised to date from individuals (including self-financing).

This statistic is the average amount from self-financing as a proportion of total raised (from individuals including the candidate) by candidate subgroup. Primary challengers to incumbents are excluded.
