Virginia will elect one U.S. Senator and 11 members to its U.S. House delegation.

Senator Mark Warner, a Democrat, is running for reelection and has raised nearly $8.8M. The Cook Political Report considers the seat solidly Democratic.

Representatives Jen Kiggans (VA-2), a Republican, and Democrat Jennifer McClellan (VA-4) are running for reelection. They are the only two women currently in the state’s congressional delegation. Democratic incumbent men have a much higher average total raised than the total raised by the sole Democratic woman incumbent Representative McClellan. Representative McClellan, who is Black, has raised $516,040 for her reelection.

Representative Kiggans is running in VA-2, which is a “Toss Up” according to The Cook Political Report; she has raised nearly $2.9M. Slightly over one-quarter of her funds come from small contributions. Elaine Luria has raised the most of the Democratic candidates seeking to challenge Kiggans, with nearly $3.2M raised; 17% of her funds are from small contributions. Both candidates in this race are white women. The average raised by Republican men seeking reelection to the U.S. House is lower than the total raised by Kiggans.

For U.S. House challenger candidates from Virginia, the average proportion of self-financing is highest for Republican men (54%) among the candidate gender and party groups.
