Virginia will elect one U.S. Senator and 11 members to its U.S. House delegation.

Senator Mark Warner, a Democrat, is running for reelection. He has raised over $6M for his reelection.

Representatives Jen Kiggans (VA-2), a Republican, and Jennifer McClellan (VA-4), a Democrat, are running for reelection in Virginia. They are the only two women in the state’s congressional delegation.

Kiggans, with $1.6M, leads the fundraising race among women and amongst those challenging her. Her race is considered a “Toss Up Republican” by The Cook Political Report. Democratic incumbent men have a higher average total raised than Democratic women.

Democrat Elaine Luria leads the money race for Kiggans’ challengers with over $1M raised; 16% of her funds are from small contributions.

There is no clear gender pattern in proportion of funds from small contributions.

For U.S. House challenger candidates, the average proportion of self-financing is highest for Republican men of the candidate gender and party groups.
