The 2008 Center for American Women and Politics (CAWP) Recruitment Studies are studies of United States state legislators' and mayors' pathways to office. Data include survey responses from women and men officeholders to questions concerning the decision to seek office, previous political experience, and personal background.
The Center for American Women and Politics (CAWP) conducted original interviews with 83 of the 108 women who served as senators, representatives, and delegates in the 114th Congress (2015-2016) for the CAWP Study of Women in the 114th Congress. Transcripts are available to scholars upon request and completion of a data use agreement.
