Cindelle Harris-Blackmon

Cindelle Harris-Blackmon, M.A. is a Plainfield native, educator, business owner, and community change agent in the city of Plainfield. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Communication Studies and Africana Studies at Rowan University and her Masters Degree in English Literature at The City College Of New York. She currently owns Cindelle’s Bookstore, teaches as an adjunct professor in the English Department at Union College and works full time in fundraising and non-profit management. She continues to mentor students and young people to improve the quality of their life through the power of literacy and community engagement. Cindelle has served on countless volunteer groups, sat on numerous community boards, and is now running for an official office that allows her to create change on a local level. 

Cindelle owes her accomplishments, her future legacy, and her passion to the City of Plainfield- the place that taught her that the center of the self is through the power and impact of each other.
