Kellie Mitra Doucette
Kellie Doucette currently serves as the Executive Director of the Sherrill-Caldwell Transition team. Kellie spent much of her private sector career in finance and healthcare and has held senior leadership roles in government and nonprofit organizations. Most recently, she served as District Director in Governor-elect Sherrill's Congressional office. She is recognized for her expertise in operational strategy and for her work building strong, collaborative teams committed to effective and transparent governance.
Kellie began her career in the health policy field, followed by many years in the private sector, working primarily in the individual disability and long-term care reinsurance markets. In 2016, she shifted her career focus to politics, initially working on local municipal campaigns, and eventually taking a senior position on Governor-elect Sherrill’s first congressional campaign in 2018.
She spent almost six years serving as a District Director for New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District, overseeing the operations of the District Office, coordinating with the legislative team in DC, and managing constituent and political outreach. In this role, she worked closely with local officials on a bipartisan basis to identify and address a wide variety of issues, such as flooding, water infrastructure, superfund remediation, public safety, housing affordability, mental health, reproductive health, economic development, veteran health care, and support for the local military installation.
Kellie received her A.B. in Economics from Harvard in 1992 and completed her Associateship of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) in 1999. She currently serves as the Vice-Chair of the Board of Trustees of St. Andrew’s School in Delaware, of which she is a proud alumna, and is a long-serving board member of Ibis Reproductive Health located in Cambridge, MA.
