Commissioner Melanie Collette is a dedicated and accomplished professional with a diverse career that spans various significant roles and responsibilities. Presently, Commissioner Collette serves as the Community Engagement Director for the New Jersey Legislative District 1 Office. In this capacity, she collaborates closely with the Chief of Staff to drive forward the mission and strategic objectives of the New Jersey District One Legislative Team, which includes Senator Testa, Assemblyman McClellan, and Assemblyman Simonsen. 

Prior to her dedicated service to state legislators, Commissioner Collette dedicated over two decades of her career to education, specializing in business technology, financial literacy, economics, and computer applications. 

Commissioner Collette's educational background includes a Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) from Marist College and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Furthermore, she holds a Standard Teaching Certificate in Finance, Business Law, and Economics, a CE for School Business Administrator, and a Life and Health Authorities license as an Insurance Producer issued by the State of New Jersey. 

In addition to her professional pursuits, Commissioner Collette is actively engaged in her community. She has served as a Mayoral Liaison to the Concerned Citizens of Whitesboro, Middle Township Zoning Board, and has been a longstanding member of the Cape May County Women's Advisory Board. Her exceptional dedication and leadership have earned her recognition, including the Women of Achievement Award (Cape May County) in October 2020, presented by the Garden State Council, Boy Scouts of America. 

Beyond her government and community involvement, Commissioner Collette is a sought-after media personality. She is widely recognized as a radio host, contributing writer, and TV commentator for prominent national news outlets. Her multifaceted career exemplifies her commitment to public service, education, and community engagement.
