The IOPL Women on Board Program is a one-day workshop that demystifys the process of getting appointed and serving on boards.
North Carolina Federation of Republican Women
Through affiliate chapters in nearly every state, the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) promotes the principles, objectives and policies of the Republican Party; elects Republican candidates; informs the public through political education and activity; and increases the effectiveness of women in the cause of good government. In working toward these objectives, the NFRW concentrates its efforts in the areas of educating, communicating, recruiting, campaigning, fundraising, training and legislative action.
NCAWA Nominating and Public Service Committee
The Nominating and Public Service Awards Committee assists women attorneys in their quest to be appointed to judicial and other appointed positions. The Committee evaluates requests for endorsements and makes appropriate recommendations to the Governor or other appointing authority. The Committee has helped to increase the numbers of women on boards and commissions of the North Carolina State Bar, such as the Disciplinary Hearing Commission, the Board of Law Examiners, and the Board of Legal Specialization.
NC Women United
NC Women United (NCWU) is a coalition of progressive organizations and individuals working to achieve the full political, social, and economic equality of all women across North Carolina. NCWU works to build women's power through grassroots activism, community organizing, legislative advocacy, and engagement in the political process.
Lillian's List
Lillian's List of North Carolina is a statewide independent political committee dedicated to electing pro-choice Democratic women to the North Carolina General Assembly.
League of Women Voters of North Carolina
The League of Women Voters of North Carolina is a nonpartisan member supported, political organization. The League encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
Leadership Winston-Salem
Leadership Winston-Salem is a nine-month community leadership development program for emerging and existing community leaders. Selected participants build lasting relationships and cover critical areas that define quality of life in a community through monthly full-day seminars, an opening retreat, and a final action learning project.
Leadership Raleigh
Leadership Raleigh is a nine-month program where participants are educated on community issues, develop leadership skills, and are exposed to community involvement opportunities. Forty-five to 50 participants are selected annually to meet once-monthly on issues like quality of life, law enforcement/public safety, human needs, local economy, local/state government, education, health services, and media.
