Womens Dem are a group of concerned citizens based in Jefferson County, MO, galvanized into action by the 2016 election and its aftermath.

Madam for America is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping to identify, recruit, train, elect, and appoint Black women at every level of government in the Midwest. 

The Appointments Project^® works to increase equity and opportunity for women by empowering them to serve on civic boards and commissions.

The Coro Fellowship St. Louis develops civic leaders by immersing them in rigorous, experiential, community-based leadership training.

The Sue Shear Institute offers a variety of training programs designed to help women navigate the pipeline to politics. "Pipeline to Public Office" is a non-partisan two-day training program for potential candidates and campaign workers designed to help individuals enter the pipeline to political office and hone valuable political career and management skills.

"Inside Scoop" is a program designed to give those interested in serving on public boards and commissions an opportunity to hear from the government officials responsible for identifying appropriate appointment candidates. The program targets women interested in appointed office, but is open to all members of the public wanting more information. Presenters for previous seminars have included representatives from the Governor's Office and the Mayor's offices in Kansas City and St.

The Centurions Leadership Program of The Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce is a two-year program providing education and training to about 75 area members who represent corporations, government agencies, not-for profit organizations, and area universities. Through seminars, activities, and retreats, Centurion members learn about issues of the Kansas City Metro area and become engaged in community projects and civic leadership.  

The Sue Shear Leadership Academy at the University of Missouri - St. Louis is an intensive 7-day leadership development program designed to inspire civic engagement and encourage women’s public sector leadership.  Students are selected from participating universities to attend. 

New Leaders Council (NLC) develops, connects, and uplifts inclusive, cross-sector leaders who transform our country through social and political change rooted in equity.

The Missouri Women's Political Caucus, a chapter of the National Women's Political Caucus, recruits, trains and supports women candidates for elected and appointed office. The Caucus works with local chapters and organizations like The Sue Shear Institute for Women in Public Life.
