Angela McKnight

Angela V. McKnight took the oath on January 9, 2024, to become the New Jersey State Senator for the 31st Legislative District. Prior, she was elected as the first New Jersey African American Assemblywoman for the 31st Legislative District. She served four terms. Senator McKnight serves on the following Senate Committees: Education, Health, Human Services and Senior Citizens and Law and Public Safety! 

She is a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA). She is the Carepreneur, who is the Founder & CEO of the 501(c)3 nonprofit organization AngelaCARES, Inc. 

She is also an entrepreneur running a few businesses and a self-published author. As an activist and social advocate, McKnight serves as a Board Chair and Member on several boards in New Jersey. She has received numerous honors for her advocacy in the community and accomplishments. Angela resides in her hometown Jersey City, NJ. She is married to her high school sweetheart Anthony. They have two children Ana’jah & Anthony Jr. as well as an amazing grandson named Jordan!
