The IOPL Women on Board Program is a one-day workshop that demystifys the process of getting appointed and serving on boards.
"Inside Scoop" is a program designed to give those interested in serving on public boards and commissions an opportunity to hear from the government officials responsible for identifying appropriate appointment candidates. The Nominating and Public Service Awards Committee assists women attorneys in their quest to be appointed to judicial and other appointed positions. The Committee evaluates requests for endorsements and makes appropriate recommendations to the Governor or other appointing authority. The Committee has helped to increase the numbers of women on boards and commissions of the North Carolina State Bar, such as the Disciplinary Hearing Commission, the Board of Law Examiners, and the Board of Legal Specialization.
California Women Lead is a non-partisan, non-profit organization dedicated to providing leadership and campaign trainings, networking opportunities, and policy discussion forums for women interested in or holding elected and appointed offices at the state or local level.
The New Jersey Bipartisan Coalition for Women’s Appointments (BCWA) is a statewide, bipartisan group of prominent women and organizations convened in years when there is an open seat for governor. BCWA convened for the first time in 1981. The purpose of BCWA is to ensure the placement of women in key positions throughout state government.
