The Matriots is an Ohio nonpartisan political action committee founded in May of 2017 by a group of women who participated in the Women’s March on Washington. Moved by the tremendous outpouring of support that day for American women and their issues, the Ohio marchers decided to launch an effort to put more women into political leadership to ensure economic justice and advance policies impacting the lives of Ohio women.
Ready to Run® Ohio is a nonpartisan effort to train and engage women to consider running for elected office or seeking appointed office or being more engaged in civic involvement in their communities of interest. Ready to Run® Ohio is part of the Ready to Run® Training Network of the Center for American Women and Politics (CAWP) at Rutgers University (NJ).
WE Succeed is an intensivethree-month coaching experience focused on helping women set and attain specific goals. Executive coaches work with participants in a small group setting to develop leadership skills, solve personal and interpersonal issues and create a culture of integrity and accountability within themselves and their organization.Groups meet for six bi-weekly sessions, work with accountability partners and receive two individual coaching calls.
WE Lead is a 10-month program combining an experiential curriculum with executive coaching. Approximately 54 women are selected each year to participate in an overnight retreat, five full day sessions and four half-day sessions. Designed for accomplished managers, business owners and leaders, the program will help refine leadership and communication skills forwomenadvancingin both theirprofessions and the community.WE Lead takes participants through creating and implementing their personal strategic plans for advancement.
The Jo Ann Davidson Leadership Institute is an eight-month program created to encourage and train women in business and civic leadership to assume more prominent roles, either elected or appointed, in government and in the Republican Party. Each year, between 15 and 20 women leaders from across Ohio who have an interest in politics and public service and meet a diverse range of criteria for participation are selected to join the Institutes class. The Jo Ann Davidson Ohio Leadership Institute is an expansion program of the Richard C. Lugar Excellence in Public Service Series.
Established in 1972, the Cincinnati Women's Political Caucus recruits, trains, and supports feminist candidates. It is the only active chapter of the National Women's Political Caucus in Ohio.
The Ohio Federation of Republican Women (OFRW) provides a vehicle for women to engage, influence policy, develop candidates and elect the future Republican leaders.
NEW Leadership® Ohio is a week long residential summer institute that educates women college students and inspires them to get involved in the political process. During the program selected students meet with women in a variety of roles in the public sphere, learn about women's political participation, explore ideas about leadership and politics, and participate in hands-on skills building exercises. NEW Leadership® Ohio is part of the NEW Leadership® Development Network of the Center for American Women and Politics (CAWP) at Rutgers University (NJ).
