Texas Federation of Republican Women

Through affiliate chapters in nearly every state, the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) promotes the principles, objectives and policies of the Republican Party; elects Republican candidates; informs the public through political education and activity; and increases the effectiveness of women in the cause of good government. In working toward these objectives, the NFRW concentrates its efforts in the areas of educating, communicating, recruiting, campaigning, fundraising, training and legislative action.

Texas Democratic Women

The National Federation of Democratic Women (NFDW) supports the inclusion of womens voices in the Democratic Party. With 32 chapters nationwide, the NFDW promotes Democratic Party goals and candidates and works to unite women party members behind them. NFDW chapters recognize potential women candidates and encourage their candidacies for office. Members attend meetings, organize educational and political events, volunteer for campaigns, and support candidates for office.

Ready to Run® New Mexico/Texas Borderlands

Ready to Run® New Mexico/Texas Borderlands provides non-partisan political training to encourage women to run for government positions. The day-long program targets women considering or recently deciding to run for political office, providing training and mentoring by campaign professionals, political women, and officeholders. Ready to Run® New Mexico/Texas Borderlands is part of the Ready to Run® National Network of the Center for American Women and Politics (CAWP) at Rutgers University (NJ).

Leadership Women

Founded in 1973, the Foundation for Women's Resources works with program affiliates and women leaders to advance and improve the personal, economic and professional status of women. The Foundation's programs include Leadership Texas - an education and training institute for Texas women leaders - and Power Pipeline - a program which provides mentors and training to emerging women leaders. In addition to these programs, the Women's Museum is an affiliate of the Foundation for Women's Resources, providing exhibits and programs that detail women's participation in U.S. history.

Leadership Texas

Founded in 1983, Leadership Texas, a program of the Foundation for Womens Resources, identifies and develops Texas' women leaders by providing them with essential information, an awareness of ongoing changes, sharpened skills, and an enduring network of women from diverse backgrounds. Women recognized as leaders throughout the state are chosen to participate in a year-long program structured around five two-and-one-half-day sessions exploring a wide range of issues including: science and technology, education, business, government, the environment and the economy.

Leadership San Antonio

Leadership San Antonio is a jointly sponsored program of The Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and The San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. This annual program educates approximately fifty existing and emerging leaders who live and work in the San Antonio metropolitan area about the promises and challenges facing their community.  Class members participate in monthly sessions and go on to take active roles within the community's public and private sectors. 

Leadership Plano

Established in 1983, Leadership Plano is a nine-month community leadership development program designed to increase individual and community leadership skills. Each year, selected participants attend a two-day beginning retreat that focuses on individual leadership styles and techniques, in addition to eight monthly day-long sessions examining specific aspects of the community such as education, area government, local business and economic development, health and human services, the criminal justice system, and the arts.

Leadership Lubbock

Founded in 1976, Leadership Lubbock is a leadership and community orientation program for selected Chamber business leaders. This program provides a source of leaders for the Lubbock Community by ensuring that Leadership Lubbock participants receive necessary community information/orientation and leadership skills. Leadership Lubbock is open to members of the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce, and are selected through an application process.

Leadership Houston

Founded in 1980, Leadership Houston provides a 10-month leadership development program that meets monthly to educate, energize, and activate civic leaders in diverse sectors of Houston. Each year, fifty selected class members are educated about the city of Houston, meeting leaders in areas such as the economy, social justice, arts, healthcare, quality of place, and more. They are prepared to take on leadership roles throughout the city upon program graduation.
