Emerge Vermont

Emerge Vermont is a political leadership training program for Democratic women. The Emerge mission is to identify, educate, and inspire Democratic women who want to pursue careers in politics at the local and state levels. Fifteen to 25 applicants are chosen annually to participate in state trainings that typically meet once-monthly over 6-8 months.

Campaign Trainings

The Vermont Republican Party holds campaign trainings for candidates filed with the Republican Party during election years. Individuals considering running can call the Party to get  information from a party official. 

Vermont NOW

Founded in 1966, the National Organization for Women (NOW) is the largest organization of feminist activists in the United States whose goal is to take action to bring about equality for all women. NOW is a multi-issue, multi-strategy organization that takes a holistic approach to women's rights. The organization's official priorities are winning economic equality and securing it with an amendment to the U.S.

Snelling Center Vermont Leadership Institute

Created by the Snelling Center for Government in 1995, the Vermont Leadership Institute (VLI) is a leadership development program designed to engage civic leaders and educate participants about issues, opportunities, and challenges facing Vermont. The 10-month program includes 18 seminar days over 8 overnight sessions, each held in a different region of the state. Participants selected from Vermont's private, public, and non-profit sectors gain the self-awareness, knowledge and networks needed in order to be effective leaders in their organizations, their communities, and Vermont.
