Leadership Trainings for Women

NEW Leadership® Ohio

NEW Leadership® Ohio is a week long residential summer institute that educates women college students and inspires them to get involved in the political process.  During the program selected students meet with women in a variety of roles in the public sphere, learn about women's political participation, explore ideas about leadership and politics, and participate in hands-on skills building exercises. NEW Leadership® Ohio is part of the NEW Leadership® Development Network of the Center for American Women and Politics (CAWP) at Rutgers University (NJ).

NEW Leadership® New York

The NEW Leadership® New York is an intensive residential program that educates college women about politics and policy making and inspires them to get involved in the political process. During the six-day program selected students meet with women in a variety of roles in the public sphere, learn about women's political participation, explore ideas about leadership and politics, and participate in hands-on skills building exercises.

NEW Leadership® Nevada

NEW Leadership® Nevada is a six-day summer institute that brings together 25 college students from across the state to learn about women's leadership and civic participation from accomplished women leaders. Students meet formally and informally with these leaders through a series of panels, lectures, and interactive workshops and create lasting networks and mentoring relationships.  Graduates are supported throughout their future endeavors by WRIN, the group's growing alumnae network, and their community partners.

NEW Leadership® Idaho

NEW Leadership® Idaho is a 6-day summer institute that brings together 24-32 college students from across the state to learn about women’s leadership and civic participation through the learned experiences of some of Idaho’s most recognized and accomplished women leaders.  

NEW Leadership® Development Network

NEW Leadership® is a week-long residential institute designed to empower college women to become involved in the political process. Participants interact with women from a variety of political and policy-making positions to develop their own concepts of leadership and learn about the roles and representation of women in politics and policy-making in the region.  The NEW Leadership Development Network currently includes 18 programs throughout the country.

Mississippi NEW Leadership®

Mississippi NEW Leadership® remains the only of its kind in Mississippi. An intensive residential program that emphasizes mentorship, networking, and experiential learning, our mission is to provide the education, support, and encouragement necessary to spur women's political leadership.

NEW Leadership® Maine

NEW Leadership® Maine is a six-day, non-partisan residential training program provided at no cost to undergraduate college women throughout the state of Maine. The program educates participants about politics and policy making and inspires them to get involved in the political process. During the six-day program selected students meet with women in a variety of roles in the public sphere, learn about women's political participation, explore ideas about leadership and politics, and participate in hands-on skills building exercises.

Leadership Texas

Founded in 1983, Leadership Texas, a program of the Foundation for Womens Resources, identifies and develops Texas' women leaders by providing them with essential information, an awareness of ongoing changes, sharpened skills, and an enduring network of women from diverse backgrounds. Women recognized as leaders throughout the state are chosen to participate in a year-long program structured around five two-and-one-half-day sessions exploring a wide range of issues including: science and technology, education, business, government, the environment and the economy.
